The parts and service department at Power Dodge remains an active and important part of the dealership鈥檚 business.
Brad Belitski, who is the parts manager at the dealership, said they provide a full range of service in terms of vehicle maintenance and repair, and they offer complete parts and accessory sales.
鈥淐hances are if we don鈥檛 have something here, we can get it in within a reasonable amount of time, and keep people happy,鈥 said Belitski.
They also perform safety inspections through Saskatchewan Government Insurance.
Eight people work in the parts and service department, with five technicians and three people who work behind the counter. They enjoy the work that they do and the service they provide for customers.
鈥淭here鈥檚 nothing worse than breaking down. We like to keep people moving for as low of a cost as possible, and that鈥檚 where maintenance is key and catching things before the inevitable,鈥 said Belitski.
Customers are also pretty appreciative of their efforts.
Employees are happy to be working indoors in an air conditioned environment, because it allows the vehicle technicians to be alert and unaffected by the outdoor heat.
鈥淲e try to help people out after hours if we have to, and stay extended hours to get people rolling as soon as possible. We鈥檙e not a 24-hour shop by any means, but we strive to get to things as quick as possible,鈥 said Belitski.聽
The majority of the vehicles they service are part of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) family, he said, and they can service other makes and models. People will bring in their non-FCA vehicles to have them serviced.
Summer is usually a bit of a slower period, he said, but they still find enough activity to keep their employees busy. Customers will bring in their vehicles to ensure the vehicles are ready for summer road trips.
鈥淲e鈥檝e been addressing people鈥檚 needs with inspections on their vehicles, cooling systems, belts, wipers and all the essentials that are needed to get people on the road trouble-free for their summer trips.
Beliktski has been in the automotive repair industry since 2000. He said that when he first started, it was beginning to get complex with the technology in the vehicles, and now it鈥檚 much more intricate.
鈥淲ith a little time and a little effort and a little experience, it can go a long way, so we鈥檙e lucky enough to have fairly experienced journeymen technicians who can rectify problems quickly for people.鈥
But he still enjoys the work, and he knows he鈥檚 not the only the only one at Power Dodge who can say that.
