Nelson GM held its annual anniversary event on June 20 with a festive atmosphere despite the cool weather. The company holds a customer appreciation annually every Father’s Day weekend.
The event also marked 15 years of its GM operations in Assiniboia. The celebration included in-store anniversary specials, door prizes, a barbecue and a show and shine by the СÀ¶ÊÓƵern Cruisers.
A barbecue of hamburgers and hot dogs was run by the Assiniboia Rockets girl’s basketball team with the $531 in proceeds raised going towards the team. The GM dealership also offered several specials for the week before the anniversary weekend, and kicked off its Smokin’ Summer Prize Pool. The next 60 vehicles sold have a chance to win a smoker patio set by entering a pool in Avonlea and Assiniboia.
Nelson GM was founded in Avonlea when Walter C. Nelson purchased Armstrong Motors in 1959. The Nelson Motors and Equipment dealership was founded as both a John Deere and General Motors franchised store. Nelson GM has locations in Assiniboia and Avonlea and has been in Assiniboia for 15 years.
The company retails Buick, Chevrolet and GMC vehicles with a full line of new and used RVs. It also has a full-service department, parts department and collision center.
