Saskatchewan residents will have plenty of opportunities to celebrate the contributions of mining to this province during Saskatchewan Mining Week from May 27 to June 2.聽
The Westmoreland Coal Company will be offering free public tours on May 31. A bus will depart the Estevan Shoppers Mall鈥檚 main entrance and visit the Westmoreland Coal Company 鈥榮 Estevan mine and SaskPower鈥檚 Shand Power Station.
A complimentary lunch will be offered at the Estevan mine at 11 a.m. The bus will return to the Estevan Shoppers Mall at noon.

As for the events across the province, they have already been announced for Saskatoon, Regina, Humboldt and Moose Jaw, reaching out to various professional groups and business organizations from across the province. These events will serve to inform the audiences of what is happening in the mining sector, and the impact of mining on the provincial economy.
Among the highlights will be Core Days on May 30 and 31 in La Ronge, in partnership with Keewatin Community Development Association, Northlands College and the Ministry of Energy & Resources.
The annual Let鈥檚 Talk Minerals will be held at the Saskatoon Inn & Conference Centre on May 31.
Bronwyn Eyre, the provincial minister for Industry and Resources, will be appearing at numerous events. Other ministry leaders will also be appearing.
The week will culminate with the 50th annual Emergency Response Mine Rescue Skills Competition, taking place in Moose Jaw at Mosaic Place and Moose Jaw Exhibition.
