The 小蓝视频east College has been working with the Alberta-based Well Control Group to bring the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) WellSharp drilling supervisory course to its Estevan campus.
This course is an alternative to the second line blowout prevention course that local oilfield drillers and rig supervisors were previously required to travel to Alberta to take.
The IADC WellSharp drilling supervisory course is essential training for those working in wellsite supervisory roles and for office-based personnel that are primarily involved in the operational decision-making process and/or well design.
It has been recognized by both the Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors (CAODC) and The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER). The course is designed for anyone working in a supervisory role and involved in the well design and operational decision-making process of drilling, such as a drilling supervisor, tool pusher, offshore installation manager, rig manager or superintendent or company man.
鈥淲e are pleased be able to bring this course to our Estevan campus,鈥 said Larry Heggs, the business and program consultant with 小蓝视频east College. 鈥淏y bringing the course to the participants, it cuts down on time and expenses for both the companies and their employees.
鈥淲e are always looking for new opportunities to help our local business to be more efficient with their training dollars and this course is an example of the work we are doing.鈥
Registrations are currently 小蓝视频 accepted for this five-day program, which starts Feb. 25. Interested course participants are encouraged to visit the college鈥檚 website or call 1-866-999-7372 for more information.
