To align with the Saskatchewan Health Authority requirements and to help reduce the risk of potential COVID-19 transmission in the city of Estevan, as of Nov. 16, there will be changes implemented to facilities in the City of Estevan.

"Our top priority has always been the health, safety and well-小蓝视频 of our community and staff," shared Mayor Roy Ludwig. "We urge our community members to comply with these measures as set out by the provincial government to keep Saskatchewan open.鈥

These new protocols require that masks are mandatory in all indoor public spaces in the city of Estevan. For a complete list of where masks are mandated, please visit the Government of Saskatchewan website.

Residents are advised that the City of Estevan facilities will have the following changes.

City Hall will be closed for access to the public; however, services over the phone will remain open; payments can be made through the mail, at the dropbox at City Hall, over the phone with a credit card and through your bank or online.

The Estevan Leisure Centre and Power Dodge Curling Centre are included as an indoor public space, and any person in the building will be required to wear a mask except anyone actively participating in sport on the ice surfaces or while in the RM of Estevan Aquatic Centre.聽聽

While using those services mentioned above, masks must stay on until the time that you are to enter the pool or the ice surface.

Participants in fitness classes must wear a mask until the instructor indicates it is time to remove them for active participation.

鈥淎s we receive further clarification for specific details for sporting participation in the facility, updates to these protocols will be amended. At this time, participants on the Affinity Place walking track, in the weight room, and squash courts must wear a mask.鈥

The multipurpose Room will be closed for all drop-in activities.

To help with monitoring access into the facility, the Power Dodge Ice Centre entrance will remain locked; all users must use the west entrance to the facility.

The Estevan Police Service (EPS) will be monitoring the mandate throughout the city-operated facilities. The EPS encourages patrons to call the station first, but if attendance in person is required, a mask is necessary to enter the facility.

The Estevan Fire Hall will be closed for public access. For assistance, it is recommended to call 306-634-1856 but as always, for emergencies, dial 911.
