The Tommy Douglas Performing Arts Centre is celebrating its fourth annual Summer Theatre Youth Development program with another world premiere production.
Pamela Porter's award-winning novel "The Crazy Man" is about life in 1960s rural Weyburn and a family's interaction with a Souris Valley Hospital patient. The novel is 小蓝视频 adapted for the stage for this summer's production by Program Director John Nolan.
Nolan said they are looking for actors of all ages and nationalities for the play which will be performed August 5, 6, 7 and 8.
The central character is a girl aged 11 to 14-years. Also required is a young woman, two tall men, an Asian girl aged 10 to 15-years, a skinny, young man, and people to play school teachers and teenagers.
Interviews for roles will take place May 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. and May 29 from 2 to 4 p.m.
The actor training program begins July 2 and will run Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Actors will work on movement, voice, character development and creative ensemble work.
