Former Estevan resident Chris Henderson is up for Male Artist of the Year, which he won in 2019 and 2020, and for Songwriter of the Year for Point of View – a song that he penned alongside Steve Mitchell.
Point of View was written as part of a campaign with CTV and the Canadian Mental Health Association.
North Portal-based Last Birds – comprised of husband and wife tandem Mike Davis and Lindsay Arnold – are also up for two awards, for Alternative Country Album of the Year for their self-titled album released last year, and for Group of the Year.
Henderson and Last Birds revealed their nominations on their respective Facebook pages on Sunday.
Teagan Littlechief of the White Bear First Nation is a finalist for the Emerging Artist of the Year Award and Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year. .
Also, the Happy Nun Café in Forget is up for Venue of the Year. And Leon Gilbertson from the Happy Nun is up for Country Music Person of the Year.Former Estevan resident Cal Gratton is up for three awards: On-air Personality of the Year, Music Director of the Year and Country Music Person of the Year.
The winners will be announced in a virtual 小蓝视频 on Access Communications on April 23.
