He appeared at the Prince of Wales Cultural and Recreation Centre on November 6, 2018, delighting Assiniboians of all ages. The Wonderist鈥檚 show came to town with the aid of the Assiniboia Arts Council. 聽聽

Funk said he doesn鈥檛 use sequined assistants like the magicians of old. Instead, the magician preferred to encourage members of the audience to come onstage and join the action. So, if anyone was shy and didn鈥檛 have aspirations of jumping under the spotlights before a crowd to select cards, or help the magician reconstruct balloon animals, they kept their heads down.

On the other hand, Funk鈥檚 entertaining and original show had ample numbers volunteers who were willing to support the Wonderist with his tricks on Wednesday night at the POW.

Certainly, Funk鈥檚 performances are family-orientated and professional. Funk had travelled the world, presenting his magic show in theatres, onboard on cruise ships and for television audiences, even appearing on programs such as NBC鈥檚 America鈥檚 Got Talent. The magician is a talented showman with an additional gift of a sarcastic but easy-going sense of humour.

One of Funk鈥檚 most fascinating capers came when the magician threw six frisbees out to the crowd. He asked the people who caught the frisbees to think of numbers between 1-50 which had a personal significance to them. Funk recorded the numbers than removed a lottery ticket from a special container. The lottery ticket had been purchased in Manitoba on December 1, 2018. Miraculously, all of the numbers given by the participants who caught the frisbees matched the figures printed on the ticket.聽 聽聽
