ASSINIBOIA - The Assiniboia Arts Council is selling raffle tickets on a Mistletoe Artesian Basket. Tickets are also on sale at the Shurniak Art Gallery or from AAC members until Wednesday, December 8. Tickets are one for $5, three for $10 and ten for $20.
This is a major fundraiser for the year, as the Arts Council will not be hosting their regular Mistletoe Art and Craft Sale.
The Arts Council will once again partner up with Erin at Mom’s Florist for the Bunches or Bouquets of Joy fundraiser as well.
Residents can purchase a Bunches ($70) or Bouquet ($120) coupon, for the purchase of flowers at Mom’s Florist. A coupon allows the recipient to receive fresh cut flowers each month for six months.
The Assiniboia Arts Council will introduce a new logo this year to honour their 40th anniversary. They plan to still be bringing residents the same great quality of arts-related activities throughout the season.
In Arts Up, a Group of TEN photography exhibit will be showcased in the Kay Cristo Room at the Assiniboia and District Public Library from November 1 to December 31. The Assiniboia Arts Council hosts this exhibit.
On display at the Shurniak Art Gallery right now is the “Angels Among Us” exhibit by Shannon Bigknife. Being self-taught and using intuition as her guide, the pieces by Bigknife have a raw openness about them.
There is a distinct point of view displayed in the artwork that expresses the beauty of the human spirit in its most vulnerable and magical forms.
