WEYBURN - The Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club played several games through the month of October, with the following results.
October 2 started the month with two and a half tables and Gord Bell and Marg Stewart had a strong game playing at 77.5 per cent to finish in first place, while there was a tie for second place between the pair of Denis Tremblay and Terry Bendickson, and the pair of Barry Mactaggart and Diane Bell.
On Oct. 5, there were three tables and top honours went to Marg Stewart and Diane Bell, while second place went to Dave Creurer and Boyd Stewart.
Two and a half tables played on Oct. 9 and Barry Mactaggart and Marg Stewart claimed first place, followed by Boyd Stewart and Dave Creurer who came second.
October 12 had just two tables and first place went to Gord Bell and Marg Stewart and there was a tie for second between the pair of Erskine Sandiford and Theresa Istace and the pair of Barry Mactaggart and Jim Kaz.
Four tables played on Oct. 16, and Warren Betker and Jim Kaz took first place; Gord Bell and Marg Stewart came second; and Barry Mactaggart and Diane Bell were third.
On Oct. 19, with three tables playing, there was a tie for first place between the pair of Barry Mactaggart and Lucie Nickel and the pair of Warren Betker and Jim Kaz.
With three and a half tables playing on Oct. 23, the leaders were Gord Bell and Barry Mactaggart in first; Warren Betker and Jim Kaz in second; and there was a tie for third between the pairs of Erskine and Mildred Sandiford, and Rick Wanner and Denis Tremblay.
October 26 had two and a half tables and taking first with a strong game were Barry Mactaggart and Gord Bell, followed by Marg Stewart and Diane Bell who placed second.
On Oct. 30 there were two and a half tables and with a close game for all, there was a tie for first between the pairs of Erskine Sandiford and Theresa Istace, and Gord Bell and Marg Stewart.
The bridge club plays on Monday evenings at 7 p.m. and on Thursdays at 1 p.m. at the Wheatland Seniors Centre. All bridge players are invited to come and play bridge.
