Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club plays matches in April

WEYBURN - The Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club held a number of games through the month of April. The club members meet at the Wheatland Senior Centre on Monday evenings at 7 p.m. and on Thursday afternoons at 1 p.m. All bridge players are welcome to come and play.

On April 4 there were three and a half tables that played and Gord Bell and Barry Mactaggart were first place finishers with a very strong game, scoring at 75 per cent; Grant and Nancy Paulson placed second, and Theresa Istace and Linda Kot took third.

With five and a half tables playing on April 7, Millie Nimegeers and Jerry Ponto placed first, Fred and Lydia Milleker came second, Erskine Sandiford and Rick Wanner were third, while Linda Kot and Theresa Istace were a close fourth.

April 11 had six tables and top honours went to Gord Bell and Jim Kaz, followed by Linda Kot and Theresa Istace in second; third place went to Denis Tremblay and Rick Wanner; fourth place went to Grant Paulson and Diane Bell; and Joan Harder and Garnet Hart took fifth.

Five and a half tables played on April 18 and Fran Franks and Meta Murray were the top finishers; Barry Mactaggart and Diane Bell placed second; Jim Kaz and Linda Kot were third, and Grant and Nancy Paulson took fourth.

On April 21, with five tables playing, Gord Bell and John Whitell finished in first place; Barry Mactaggart and Lucie Nickel took second; Joan Harder and Jean Fahlman were third; and there was a tie for fourth between pair Erskine Sandiford and Rick Wanner and pair Diane Bell and Marg Stewart.

Four tables played on April 25 and first place went to Barry Mactaggart and Gord Belll; second place went to Fran Franks and Erskine Sandiford; while third place went to Lucie Nickel and Lydia Milleker.

On April 28, with three tables playing, Boyd Stewart and Garnet Hart finished in first place, and there was a tie for second place between the pair of Barry Mactaggart and Gord Bell, and Linda Kot and Lucie Nickel.
