Triple C wraps up fundraising efforts

(Submitted) - As the Weyburn Triple C Centre committee closes down, we are pleased to present the City of Weyburn with the balance in our bank account amounting to $46,437.00.

Members of the Triple C Centre committee attended the city council meeting on August 17 to present the remainder of the funds in the committee’s account to the City of Weyburn. The Triple C committee is wrapping up fundraising efforts as the Cugnet Centre is now complete. The cheque of $46,437.00 is going to be used towards future costs relating to the Cugnet Centre. (Submitted) - As the Weyburn Triple C Centre committee closes down, we are pleased to present the City of Weyburn with the balance in our bank account amounting to $46,437.00.  This money will be distributed as required for maintenance and other capital costs that may arise as a result of decisions made by the Cugnet Centre Facilities Management Committee.  This committee presently consists of members of both Weyburn City Council and SE Cornerstone School Division as well as employees of SE Cornerstone SD. The current members are:  Laura Morrissette, Mel Van Betuw, Mathew Warren, Wade Oberg, Andy Dobson and Marilyn Yurkiw. This is the committee the public may contact if they have any concerns regarding the Cugnet Centre.


There are still a number of unsold seats in the Cugnet Centre. These may be purchased from City Hall at a cost of $250 each with a tax receipt.


In addition to the 3.4 million dollars that Triple C has contributed to the cost of the building they have, on behalf of the donors, donated over $220,000 in additional upgrades to make the venue an even better facility.


• $22,000 to correct the mistake in the FOH (front of house) lighting
• $32,000 to install 12 LED front Lekos
• $14,000 to purchase 6 sets of choral risers
• $4,000 to purchase four new stage risers and cart
• $19,000 to purchase a digital sound board
• $10,000 to purchase a 5 station intercom
• $4,000 to construct walls in the basement
• $6,297 to purchase a cyc (back projection curtain)
• $4,000 to supply furniture for the green room
• $6,000 for 42 8' banquet tables
• $800 Lectern
• $6,000 for stage and door barriers
• $50,000 for a Steinway Grand piano
• $17,000 to refurbish the Baldwin Grand piano
• $8,667 to purchase 8 ETC Color source Pars
• $6,256 to purchase 8 Source 4 Lekos - long throw
• $1,760 to raise truss higher
• $887 for three hanging choral mikes
• $4,444 for specific music microphones (mainly piano)
• $3,500 for 8 wireless Shure headsets
• $1,560 to repair scrim and supply carriers


The Triple C Committee appreciates the opportunity to help bring an excellent facility to the City of Weyburn and the Weyburn Comprehensive School and look forward to many years of it contributing to the cultural fabric of the citizens of Weyburn and area.
