Thomson Lake Golf course hosted its second annual Golf Fore the Cure tournament on September 8. This fundraiser was a Golf Canada event.
There were 47 women dressed in shades of pink joined in the fun day.
The tournament runs as a best ball, with two fun team challenges for each team mate, the Designated Driver, the Fairway Girl, Miss Chippie and the Perfect Putter. First place team, The Presidents Choice, included Lynne Piche, Michelle Pouteaux and Rhonda Kolskog.
The 鈥淏oobie鈥� prize went to the The Pink Split Enz consisting of Laurie Stianson, Arlene Bushell, Deb Olliver and Sandra Quarrie. The best dressed player was Arlene Bushell.
The best dressed team was the Super Droopers: Penny Anderson, Twyla Verhelst, Amanda Anderson and Shari McCarnel. The most 鈥淓xperienced鈥� team was Linda Laenger, Lori Mitschke, Suzanne Fournier and Terry Nelson.
With the team challenges, the best hit with our 鈥淕reat Canadian鈥� golf glove was Jaimie Letnes. The best shot with the Boobie Tee was the entertaining Kathy DeWulf.
The best shot with the big chipper was Robyn Butz. The longest putt with the little pink putter was Cindy Gross (it did not go in, but was entertaining).
The most un-lady like comments for the day went to Lois Marit. The Subaru鈥檚 Safest Drive shot went to Michelle Pouteaux. After the golf tournament we had the After Challenges. Designated Drivers longest drive went to Tamara Ferraton. Fairway Girls closest to the fairway crooked line went to Sheila Goddard.
Miss Chippie鈥檚 closest chip went to Tina Cojocar. Perfect Putter鈥檚 lowest score on the putting green went to Katherine Erickson. The meals were served by Darcey and Sherri Beauchesne and their kitchen crew.
Many sponsors donated prizes and cash donations for the cause. After all the money was added together from entry fees, silent auction, 50/50, Do Over鈥檚 and donations, the grand total sent in for Cancer Research in Saskatchewan was an amazing $3,291.86.聽 Fawn Weisgerber and her team did all the organization that went into the tournament and the behind the scenes work.
Next year鈥檚 tournament is Saturday, June 8, 2019.
