McCord Quilting Group held their annual ‘Quilts in the Park’ display on June 24. The weather cooperated and there were many, many quilts in the park although there were several items displayed in the hall. There were some new quilts this year from some ladies who had never shown quilts before. Quilts of all sizes as well as wall hangings and runners completed the display. An antique quilt with the Dresden Plate pattern, children’s quilts with ‘hockey’ designs and an original quilt portraying the Wood Mountain Park history added to the variety. The park gazebo had some table runners for view along with the guest book. Visitors from as far away as Swift Current enjoyed the show.
McCord Museum ladies provided a ‘beef on a homemade bun’ with refreshments at noon. The Museum organized a work crew to replace the platform in front of their station on June 23.
