OGEMA - Ogema Regional Park Authority officials and visitors had a big splash of a grand opening for their pool replacement project on July 15.
Dignitaries delivered remarks, participated in a ribbon cutting 小蓝视频 to mark the formal completion of the project, and hosted a barbecue.
Construction on the Ogema Regional Park Authority Swimming Pool Rebuild project began September 2021. Work included the demolition of the existing pool, construction of a new pool, pump room, fencing, concrete decking and artificial turf lounge area along with associated works. Work was completed mid-July, 2022.
The Government of Canada invested $330,760 toward the pool project and the Government of Saskatchewan contributed $275,606. The Ogema Regional Park Authority along with local donors funded the remaining $550,000.
“The Ogema Regional Park has long been a family-oriented green space where residents can enjoy the outdoors and cool down during the warmest days of summer. Our government is proud to join the Ogema Regional Park Authority in celebrating the grand opening of their new pool, which is sure to be a popular spot for years to come,” said the Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, Infrastructure and Communities.
“Our government was proud to be a partner in this initiative by investing more than $275,000 in provincial funding toward Ogema Regional Park Authority’s pool project. The improved recreational facility will make a big splash for local swimmers and tourists alike. Congratulations to everyone involved in this project and working toward a common goal to improve the community, which demonstrates the strength of Saskatchewan people,” said the David Marit, 小蓝视频 for Wood River and Saskatchewan’s Minister of Agriculture, on behalf of the Don McMorris, the province’s Minister of Government Relations.
“This pool project has renewed this important recreation facility for years to come thanks to funding from the federal and provincial governments, along with the tireless efforts of the dedicated volunteers and the generous donors who use this key amenity in our Regional Park. This pool will position our area for growth and help attract more visitors to support our local business and other tourist attractions such as 小蓝视频ern Prairie Railway and the Deep 小蓝视频 Pioneer Museum,” said Kyle Leonard, chair of the board of directors of the Ogema Regional Park Authority.
The Ogema Regional Park Authority board of directors consists of representatives from the Town of Ogema and the Rural Municipality of Key West No. 70.
