Kisbey Museum wraps up its 2022 season

The museum attracted people who were eager to learn about Kisbey's history.

KISBEY - Historic hats were the order of the day on Aug. 25 at the Kisbey Museum, where the annual hat day tradition marked the last of the regular public openings for the 2022 season.

Most of the 150 visitors who signed the guestbook in July and August were from the local Highway 13 communities but others came from Alberta, B.C. and Manitoba.

Especially welcome were several new residents of Kisbey and Arcola who came to learn about local history as part of getting settled in their new homes.

During the summer months, Thursdays at the Museum were the social hub of the community. Light refreshments and socializing complemented the historic documents and more than 1,300 artifacts that museum committee members Deb Wallace, Joanne Johnston, Grant Hale, Andree Harkness, Nicole Maitland and Richard Krehbiel manage for the community.

Off-season visits are available by appointment through the Village of Kisbey office. The committee looks forward to resuming the regular schedule in July 2023.
