Graduation ceremonies held in Fillmore

Fillmore “33” Central School held their 2022 graduation exercises on June 25 in the Town Hall.

FILLMORE – “33” Central School held their 2022 graduation exercises on June 25 in the Town Hall. This year’s graduates were Carlee Sanheim, Zachary Schaefer, Karter Frederiksen, Noah Verville and Kathryn Frittaion. The emcee for the evening was Principal Kylee Carver.

O Canada was played by Alexa Frederiksen and Ashtyn Fortin. The graduates entered the hall on the arms of their escorts and were presented with their diplomas from Gord Husband. Carlee Sanheim gave the Valedictorian address, followed by the presentation of awards. The Valedictorian Medal was presented to Carlee Sanheim.

2021 graduate Jay Boll was presented with the Governor General’s award and the Horner Scholarship. The award depends on finals marks so is always presented the following year. Carlee Sanheim won the SECPSD award and the “33” Central SRC Scholarship. The Fillmore Lions Club award was jointly shared by Noah Verville and Carlee Sanheim. The Fillmore and District Legion award went to Kathryn Frittaion. Noah Verville was presented with the RM of Fillmore award, the “33” Central SRC Citizenship award, the Baxter Memorial award and the “One in a Million’ award. Zachary Schaefer won the Science Fair Heritage award.

Zachary and former student, Hannah Trask, were each presented with a Fillmore Hospital Auxiliary award. Guest speaker for the evening was Dana Clay. The media presentation was presented by Stacy Sanheim.

Following the exercises the escort dance, the parent dance and the recessional closed the evening.

Prairie Memories Museum was presented with a grant of $2,500 from the Weyburn Credit Union’s Community Fund on June 21 at a community celebration, barbecue and entertainment. Museum Chair Larry Wiggins, Secretary Terry Boll and board member Eldon Piper accepted the grant. Audrey Piper and Marie Wiggins also attended the event. The money will be used to renovate the bathrooms and make them wheelchair accessible at the museum.
