Glentworth School SRC had a donation jar with proceeds going to the Glentworth Fire Department. By collecting change and organizing a food sale, they were able to present the RM with $330. It was very important for the students to understand the importance of community and volunteering.
The Glentworth School staff analyzed school data from 2016-2017 and identified three areas to focus on this year. These areas include writing, parent-school communication and bullying. The school writing goal has entered its second year and there has been growth in student writing from Grade 1 to 12. The parent-school communication is also in its second year. The topic of bullying came to light in the data from the school survey information submitted by the students. The staff wanted to focus on identifying bullying, what students should do, who they can talk to, and to focus on kindness and the positive character traits that all of the students possess. There are some activities planned involving the whole school that are designed to build relationships with the students and to discuss positive traits.
