Hey Saskatchewan … we have a wonderful opportunity to step up and be ‘counted’ on March 30 and 31, so to speak — no pun intended. On these days, we can show our good neighbours in Lafleche that we’re wishing them the very best …

Lafleche is battling it out in a ‘face-off’ with three other communities in Canada to win the coveted ’Kraft Hockeyville 2018’ title, $250,000 cash, and a chance to host an NHL pre-season game.

The money will go towards upgrading their Community Centre and rink.

We can all help Lafleche to win this much needed prize money and title by voting for them ‘on-line’. Go to this internet address and vote as often as you can: www.krafthockeyville.ca.

Voting begins on Friday, March 30, at 10 p.m., and ends on Saturday, March 31, at 6:30 p.m. CST.

The winner of Kraft’s ‘Hockeyville 2018’ will be announced on Hockey Night In Canada, on Saturday, March 31 after the second intermission at 9 p.m..

Win or lose, Lafleche is already a winner. Being one of the top four entries in Canada, they will receive, at the very least, $25,000 for minor upgrades to the Community Center and another $10,000 to go towards the purchase of minor hockey equipment for the community.

Either way, win or lose, Lafleche is throwing a big, huge, bash on Saturday night at the Community Center. Schedule for the evening’s events is as follows: Happy hour begins at 4 p.m. Supper is at 6 p.m. Tickets are just $10. Children, 5 and under are free. A ‘Calcutta’, Silent Auction, and the evening ‘program’ begins at 7 p.m. Music, ‘bar’, and dance will follow. There will also be a ‘midnight lunch’. A guaranteed ’50/50 draw’ of at least $1,000 will be held, thanks to the Lafleche Flyers.

Don’t miss the biggest bash ever, in Lafleche … Saturday, March 31, at 4 p.m.
