Limerick
Canada 150 celebrations take place in Limerick on July 1 starting at 2 p.m. with a beer garden, music, and entertainment at the sports grounds. Activities for children with bouncy castles and face painting start at 3 p.m. and events at the museum run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
There will be a supper and cake at 5 p.m. at the sports grounds. Fireworks cap the day and begin at dark.
Willow Bunch
On July 1, the Willow Bunch museum will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a barbecue running from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children鈥檚 activities include bouncy castles and take place from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
A scavenger hunt for all ages will also take place. There will also be a Willow Bunch tourism walking tour.
Ogema
The 35th annual Deep 小蓝视频 Pioneer Museum Day in Ogema takes place on Sunday, July 9. This day provides visitors with a chance to experience early life at Ogema鈥檚 30-building pioneer village, view demonstrations like threshing, rope-making, and flour grinding, as well as a parade of vintage machinery. There will be agricultural, antique, and arts and crafts displays. There are 150 pieces of antique farm machinery including a 1912 Case steam traction engine. The day begins with a pancake breakfast and a concession will be available. The museum is open from May 15 to September 1 from Wednesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Since 1980, the museum has hosted an annual Museum Day the first Sunday of July in conjunction with the Ogema Agricultural Society鈥檚 annual fair. The Agricultural Society was established in 1914. The Deep 小蓝视频 Pioneer Museum located in Ogema is the largest community owned museum in western Canada.
The Ogema Agricultural Society鈥檚 annual fair day takes place on Saturday, July 8. A pancake breakfast hosted by the Deep 小蓝视频 Pioneer Museum starts off events from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Red Coat Road and Rail Park by the Train Station. Next, a parade begins at 10 a.m. with floats by local businesses and organizations. There will be a concession operating all day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the grandstand behind the ball diamond.
There will be a number of children鈥檚 activities. Kiddie Corner will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the skating rink. A Kids Rodeo takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and a horse pull runs from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the rodeo arena. There will be exhibits located in the rink starting at 11 a.m. that run to 4:30 p.m. A Bike and Pet Show Judging takes place at the rink at 11:30 a.m. for those with pet dogs, cats and even goats. Bikes can be decorated for participation in the parade. They will be judged after the pet show. The Silly Science Show presented by Funtaz starts at 2 p.m. in the skating rink. The event includes science, rocket launching and just pure silliness.
Slo-pitch and men鈥檚 fastball will be starting at 11 a.m. and will continue all afternoon. A supper take place at the Community Heritage Hall between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. A beer gardens will open at 1 p.m. at the camp kitchen, and a cabaret will run at the skating rink at 9:00 p.m.
In celebration of Canada鈥檚 150th celebration, the agricultural fair will end with a firework display at dusk at the ball diamonds.
