ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Police Service were called to St. Joseph’s Hospital on March 12 to a report of an unruly and assaultive patient.
Members attended and arrested a 45-year-old Estevan woman for assaulting one of the nurses. She was later released from police custody and will appear in Estevan Provincial Court at a later date to speak to the charge.
That same day, police located a 23-year-old Estevan man who was breaching his court-ordered release conditions. He was intoxicated at the time and was arrested and lodged in cells for the night. He was to be released when sober and will appear in Estevan Provincial Court at a later date to speak to the charge of breaching his conditions.
EPS members arrested a 38-year-old Estevan man who was breaching a no-contact condition of his release. He was lodged in cells and was to be released once processed and provided a new court date in Estevan.
Police received a report of a scam on March 11. The complainant thought they were making a purchase on a business website and the site turned out to be fraudulent. When the victim called the business, they were advised there was no order. The matter is still under investigation.
Police received a report of fraudulent charges on an individual’s credit card. The matter is still under investigation.
Police received a report of a suspicious man hanging around a local sports club. A detailed description of the individual has been provided by the complainant, and EPS members will be increasing patrols in the area to contact and identify the person.
EPS members attended to a disturbance complaint in the Pleasantdale area. As a result, a man was arrested for assault and subsequently released on conditions, including to appear in Estevan Provincial Court in May to speak to the charge.
The EPS received a request for a well-СÀ¶ÊÓƵ check on an Estevan resident. Members attended and determined the individual was fine. Additional support through the EPS's Police and Crisis Team was provided.
A suspicious man was reported in the city core. Members attended the area but were unable to locate the individual. Based on the detailed description provided, the identity of the man is believed to be known by police and nothing criminal appeared to have occurred.
A concerned passerby reported a youth playing on the train trestle on the west end of the city over Highway 39. Police attended the scene but the youth was no longer present.
Police received a report of an individual making Facebook posts that may be defamatory towards a local business. The matter is still under investigation.
