OUTLOOK - A former Estevan resident is the new СÀ¶ÊÓƵ for the Dakota-Arm River constituency in central Saskatchewan.
The Sask Party's Barret Kropf was victorious during Monday night's provincial election, capturing 4,788 of the 8,313 votes cast, or 57.6 per cent of the popular vote. He defeated several candidates, including the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party's Jordan Wiens, who received 1,949 votes, the Saskatchewan United Party's Darren Ebenal (1,050 votes), the Progressive Conservative Party's Raymond Carrick (437 votes), and the Saskatchewan Green Party's Joseph Reynolds (89 votes).
Kropf's victory was called at 9:30 p.m. when he was sitting at 643 votes, a far distance from his nearest opponent, the NDP's Wiens at 197 votes.
The candidates were largely new to constituents, including Kropf, who was taking over as the Saskatchewan Party representative from former СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Dana Skoropad, who earlier this year had decided to exit the provincial political arena.
