ESTEVAN - The 2024 edition of the Estevan Exhibition Association's Energy City Ex. opened Friday night, with many people flocking to the EEA's grounds for the activities.
A thunderstorm rumbled through the Estevan area late Friday afternoon, but the skies eventually cleared and the crowd was able to enjoy the evening.
West Coast Amusements has once again supplied the midway for this year's fair, with rides for people of all ages and numerous carnival games. Food vendors offered plenty of options for patrons.
A quilt show was set up in the EEA's building, while an agriculture pavilion is set up in the Wylie-Mitchell building.
The annual SMILE Services Estevan Parade was held Friday afternoon to kick off the Energy City Ex. The opening night of the KCRA rodeo also took place on Friday night. During the rodeo's intermission, Jaycee Ross' 4-H steer was auctioned off, raising more than $53,000 for the campaign to bring an MRI scanner to Estevan.
The Energy City Ex. will continue through Sunday.
