ESTEVAN - For the second time in three years, the Estevan Bruins will host a Western Hockey League (WHL) preseason game at Affinity Place.
The Regina Pats will face the reigning WHL champions, the Moose Jaw Warriors, on Sept. 6 starting at 7 p.m.
Tickets are now on sale and are available online at estevanbruins.com. Sales at the Bruins' office start July 23 at 10 a.m.
The Warriors captured their first WHL title in franchise history this spring, defeating the Portland Winterhawks in the league final. They made it to the semifinal of the Memorial Cup national championship tournament.
The Pats, meanwhile, are led by head coach Brad Herauf, who played for the Bruins from 1999-2002. Herauf was named the Bruins' MVP in 2001.
The last time a WHL preseason game was held in Estevan was in September 2022, when the Pats, led by superstar Connor Bedard, defeated the Swift Current Broncos 4-2 in front of more than 1,500 fans. Bedard scored twice in the game.
