ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Police Service, along with the Estevan Fire Rescue Service and Estevan EMS, responded to an electrical fire at a business in the Scotsburn area on Feb. 27. Police assisted with traffic control and were eventually released from the scene.
No other details were immediately released.
Police responded to a 911 call. A female was heard on the line, but police were unable to determine the emergency. Members attended and attempted to assist the woman. A 31-year-old woman from Estevan was arrested for assaulting a police officer. She was transported and lodged in cells, and will be released once sober with a court date in April.
Officers received a report of a suspicious person at a gas station. The caller was concerned for the lone employee and asked members to attend. Police arrived and everything was fine.
Police received a report of criminal harassment. Statements were provided and a 36-year-old man from Estevan was arrested. He was released on an undertaking and will speak to his charge in April.
Members were dispatched to a report of a domestic dispute. Members attended and spoke with all parties involved. It was confirmed that an argument had taken place, however, nothing physical occurred. No further police involvement was required.
Officers were called to St. Joseph's Hospital for a motion alarm from a vacant ward. A search and sweep of the hospital was conducted and nobody was located. The matter remains under investigation.
A 30-year-old woman from Estevan turned herself in on outstanding warrants. She was released with a court date in March.
Police responded to 68 calls for service from Feb. 23-26, including complaints of theft under $5,000 from several businesses, a fraud over $5,000 involving the purchase of a motor vehicle, complaints of possible impaired drivers, and calls to licensed establishments to assist with unruly patrols.
A 23-year-old Estevan man was arrested and held for court after police received multiple complaints of a male causing disturbances at restaurants, convenience stores and other community locations. He appeared in front of a Provincial Court judge to answer to the charges.
