ESTEVAN – Whitecap Resources has launched the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation's Radiothon For Life campaign with a donation of $50,000.
This support officially started off the fundraising initiatives of the foundation’s annual radiothon, set to take place May 21 live on Golden West Radio's three Estevan stations.
In a news release, the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation said it is very grateful for the donation.
“We are incredibly thankful for the donation from Whitecap Resources for our 14th annual Radiothon For Life campaign. Our radiothon will continue to support our MRI for Estevan fundraising campaign and with this donation we are off to a great start as we kick off radiothon," said St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation executive director Lori Gervais.
This year’s Radiothon for Life will be back inside St. Joseph’s Hospital in the rotunda outside of the Tom and Irma Cafeteria.
“We love hosting the day right in the centre of the hospital. That allows us to also include the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital as well as truly showing off where the funds that are raised go,” said Gervais.
Campaigns in support of the Radiothon For Life have already begun with Suds Zone Car Wash hosting their second annual wash-a-thon, along with A&W Estevan having a Teen Burger Tuesday campaign that will run every Tuesday from April 22-May 20. Proceeds from all Teen Burgers sold at A&W Estevan on those days will support the radiothon.
小蓝视频ern Plains Co-op is also signed up to support a community barbecue on radiothon day for both lunch and supper. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be available, all by donation at the St. Joseph’s Hospital cafeteria.
“Our Radiothon for Life is a huge fundraiser for us and with the MRI goal nearing, we are looking forward to adding more funds to our MRI project campaign,” said Gervais.
The Radiothon For Life is an annual event hosted by St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support the funding of medical equipment at the hospital.
The MRI for Estevan campaign has raised more than $5.255 million to bring MRI services to southeast Saskatchewan. The campaign goal is $6.5 million.
The total includes the $2 million from Elaine Walkom in honour of her late husband Grant that kick-started the campaign.
