聽 聽 聽 聽 Maryfield was an arena of learning and excitement on Thursday, Sept. 28, with a Progressive Agriculture Safety Day held at the Maryfield Rink. Students from grade three to grade six attended from Maryfield, Wawota, Redvers, Bellegarde and schools from Manitoba.
聽 聽 聽 聽 The all-day event sponsored by Saskatchewan Association of Agricultural Societies and Exhibitions or SAASE, Enbridge, Farm Credit Association, the Maryfield Agriculture Society and the Maryfield Health Centre was both an educational and fun day for the attending students.
聽 聽 聽 聽 The students spent the day rotating between stations and spending 10 minutes at each of the demonstrations. They participated in hands on activities and learning lessons focused on health and safety at home.聽 Much of the day had an agricultural focus, but it also is general safety information such as fire safety, internet safety and sun safety included as well.聽
聽 聽 聽 聽 鈥淢any in agriculture know someone whose life has been affected by a farm related injury or death,鈥澛燦icki Ford and Sandra Johnston with the Maryfield Primary Health Centre explained when inviting The Observer for the day. 鈥淢ost incidents could have been prevented with a few simple safety precautions.鈥
聽 聽 聽 聽 A total of 20 stations were set up to focus on everything from safety on the farm, to 小蓝视频 home alone, to fire prevention, internet safety, and much more.
聽 聽 聽 聽 The educational day saw the community come together to ensure its success with many volunteers helping the day run smoothly.
