SASKATOON - A man and woman from Saskatoon are facing a number of charges following an investigation by the Crime Reduction Team (CRT) into methamphetamine trafficking.
At approximately 1 a.m., April 11, members of CRT with assistance from the Tactical Support Unit (TSU), executed a search warrant at a residence in the 3800 block of Fairlight Drive. As officers were entering, a male suspect fled from the rear of the residence. He was quickly apprehended by an Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) Canine team and members of TSU. A search resulted in officers locating methamphetamine nearby. A woman at the residence was also arrested.
A search of the home resulted in the seizure of; 78.2 grams of methamphetamine, $410 cash, numerous edged-weapons, conducted energy devices, a cross-bow, body armour and ammunition.
The male was transported to hospital for injuries consistent with a dog bite. He was later released to SPS custody.
The 44-year-old male and the 36-year-old female are both facing a number of charges including; Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of the Proceeds of Crime and weapons-related offences.
The male was also wanted on outstanding warrants and found to be in breach of court conditions.
