Man tries to flee from police following weapons complaint

SASKATOON - One man was arrested last night, following a weapons call at a hotel in Saskatoon.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., April 13, Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) received a report of a man with a gun, who had pointed it at another individual. Officers responded to the hotel in the 800 block of Idylwyld Drive North and observed the suspect in the parking lot.

He refused to comply with police commands and began to flee on foot.

A conducted energy weapon (CEW) was successfully deployed and the suspect was arrested without further incident. Police located an imitation firearm on his person.

He was assessed by paramedics in Detention and did not require medical attention.

A 27-year-old Saskatoon man is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, carry a concealed weapon and breach of probation.
