29 cities received the funding bonuses.

REGINA - After the federal government announced additional money for the Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF), the City of Regina was not included in the bonuses.

The bonuses were based on the "top performing" cities for housing. Included in the bonuses were 29 areas splitting nearly $74 million.

Among those were Calgary getting around $22 million, while Edmonton received $17.4 million

However, Regina was excluded from the list after they were granted $35 million towards the funds last year.

Part of that funding was fast-tracking over 1,000 units over the next few years. However, Stu Niebergall, CEO of the Regina and Region Home Builders' Association, said back in November the city needs upwards of 1,700 units per year to meet the expected population of 300,000 plus by 2050.
