The city is considering adding a new four-month transit pass for students attending post-secondary school.

REGINA - Post-secondary students could soon save on Regina transit.

A motion to approve a new four-month post-secondary transit pass for students will be considered at Wednesday’s city council meeting.

The pass will be priced at $260, which would save post-secondary students around $50 in that span.

To obtain the pass, a student must attend a post-secondary institution located in the city for a minimum of three consecutive months.

With this change, "no additional operational costs are required, and there is no anticipated impact on revenues due to an expected increase in ridership," the motion notes.

If approved, the new passes will be implemented on Aug. 24.
