MONTREAL — CF Montreal has traded American forward Mason Toye to the Portland Timbers.
Montreal announced the transaction Tuesday, acquiring a second-round pick in the 2025 Major League Soccer SuperDraft and a conditional amount of general allocation money in 2025.
Montreal could receive up to US$200,000 based on Toye's performance.
Toye joined Montreal in October 2020 from Minnesota United FC. In 64 games, he produced 13 goals and two assists.
Montreal is 11th in the Eastern Conference, while Portland is eighth in the West.
Montreal visits Orlando SC on Friday to play its first match of the Leagues Cup group stage.
