71-year-old man shot and killed in a car in Montreal's St-Laurent borough

MONTREAL — A man in his 70s has died after he was shot at least once outside a restaurant in Montreal's St-Laurent borough Monday evening. Montreal police confirmed today the death is the seventh murder on their territory this year.

MONTREAL — A man in his 70s has died after he was shot at least once outside a restaurant in Montreal's St-Laurent borough Monday evening.

Montreal police confirmed today the death is the seventh murder on their territory this year.

The 71-year-old victim was shot in the upper body while he was sitting alone in a vehicle in the parking lot of a restaurant on Marcel-Laurin Boulevard at about 11:20 p.m.

The attacker or attackers had fled the scene by the time police arrived in response to a 911 call.

As of early this morning officers had spoken to witnesses but made no arrests.

Crime scene investigators were at the scene, and the nearby street was closed to traffic.
