SASKATOON — As “Mining Week” wrapped up in Saskatchewan, several safety teams were put through their paces with strong competition.
Teams from 18 mine sites around Saskatchewan at the 54th Saskatchewan Mining Association Emergency Response/Mine Rescue Skills Competition held at the World Trade Centre at Prairieland Park in Saskatoon.
Teams working in underground and surface rescue displayed their skills in seven separate events. The overall “surface” winner was the team from the K+S Potash Mine at Bethune. The overall “underground” winner was the team from Nutrien’s Cory Mine.
