SWIFT CURRENT - Innovation Federal Credit Union has announced it is introducing a $5 million Legacy and Development Grant Fund.
The fund is reserved for Saskatchewan people with Saskatchewan projects and is a way for the credit union to continue its local presence.
“Our current membership and community base are what made us who we are today,” said Innovation CEO, Daniel Johnson in a statement. “We’ve created this legacy fund to earmark dollars for Saskatchewan initiatives, to continue to reward and support our local members and their communities.”
Innovation has announced the community grant program recipients for 2023 and they are as follows:
- Eastend Community Swimming Pool for Stay and Play - Enhancing the Green Space
- Swift Current - The Meadows Auxiliary for a Silver Wings Access Van
- Eastend Memorial Hall for refurbishing main hall hardwood floor
- Frontier and District Ambulance for purchase of a new ambulance
- Swift Current Board of Education of the Chinook School Division No 211 of Saskatchewan, for the O.M. Irwin School North Playground Project
- Gull Lake Lyceum Theatre lobby modernization project
- Town of Hafford for ball Diamond and concession stand upgrade
- Hazlet Regional Park Inc. for playground upgrade phase one
- Eastend Arts Council for Wallace Stegner House educational installation and community space
- Kincaid & District Health Centre Board Inc. for clinic construction
- Meadow Lake ML Homeplate Shelter Coalition Corp. for home plate shelter
- Medstead Central School for outdoor playground
- Hafford & District Recreation Boars for playground upgrade
- Meadow Lake Curling Club for kitchen upgrade
- Village of Meota for Meota playground
- Village of Shell Lake for curling rink rebuild
- Success Community Hall Co-operative Association Ltd. Replacement of flooring.
- Swift Current Community Youth Initiative for counselling program expansion
- Cut Knife Bowling Alley to install synthetic lanes and upgrade computer system
- Eastend Wolf Willow Health Centre for ceiling lift installation project, and Lend a Hand Resident Transfers
- Medstead M.A.D.R.A. Leisure Life Club Inc. for club room improvements
- Village of Climax for playground gazebo and shade shelter
- Pierceland Recreation Association for community hall sound system
- Pierceland Volunteer Fire Department for wildlife equipment purchase
- Goodsoil Recreation Community Hall Board for hall floor maintenance and purchase of a protector system
- Goodsoil & District Parks & Rec for kitchen renovation.

Johnson also confirmed in a statement that Innovation is doubling their sponsorship budget in 2023.
