Helmut (Charlie) Bernard Schultz
December 19, 1933 – September 19, 2024
Helmut (Charlie) Bernard Schultz of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the age of 90 years.
He was born in East Germany on December 19, 1933. When Helmut was six years old it was the start of the Second World War, which had a great impact on his young life. He attended school until he was 14. After WWII, his family moved to West Germany where he worked in his parent’s store. Before coming to Canada in 1958, Helmut took training to become a butcher. While in Canada, he worked with his brother for two years and then went to work for Canada Packers in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan where he was employed until his retirement.
Helmut loved reading his Bible, watching Christian Ministries on television and talking about the coming of his Lord’s return. He followed the news on T.V., you could also find him watching a good western movie. Helmut loved to cook and did so until shortly before his death. He was known for his love of gardening and grew one of the most bountiful vegetable gardens in the city. Helmut gladly shared the fruits of his labour with neighbours and friends. In the winter, he enjoyed shovelling snow.
Helmut will be forever loved and missed by his loving wife Rose.
