NORMA KATHLEEN KINNON

January 19th, 1943- November 26th, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norma Kathleen Kinnon at the age of 81 years. Norma was born on January 19th, 1943 and passed away on Tuesday, November 26th, 2024 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.  She was predeceased by her husband, George Kinnon; parents, Thomas and Esther Moir; sister, Connie Wilson; and son-in-law, Todd Owatz. Norma is survived by her daughters, Michelle (Robin) Getz of Medway, Massachusetts and their children Matthew, Lauren and Isaac, and Sandra Owatz of Victoria, BC and her children Samuel and Sarah.

Norma was raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and attended public school there before pursuing a career in Laboratory Technology. Norma started work in 1960 at the Moose Jaw Clinic, setting up the lab with Dr. Bromley. She also worked at the Union Hospital.  In 1963, George and Norma wed and for 59 years they worked together to raise a family and weather the many ups and downs of farm life. Norma and George retired from the farm and moved to Moose Jaw in 1995. Returning to city life allowed Norma to enjoy new hobbies like biking, scrapbooking and coffee with friends at the Town and Country Mall. She had a talent for making friends wherever she went and will be missed by those whose lives she touched.

In keeping with Norma’s wishes, a private family remembrance was held. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Norma’s name may be made to the Canadian Lung Association or a charity of one’s choice. To donate directly to the Canadian Lung Association call 1- 613-569-6411 or online at and tap the “donate” button in the top left-hand corner of the web page. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
