It is with sadness the family of Irene Joan Gaudaur of Moose Jaw passed away at the age of 94. Irene grew up during WWII, in England and was an evacuee of the war.

In 1945, Irene met John Gaudaur, who was working as a medical orderly with the Canadian Military. In 1946, they became engaged prior to John returning to his regiment in Canada. In 1947, Irene was soon to be 18 and married John in Frankford, Ontario. Irene and John moved to Glen Miller, Ontario where they built their first home and started their life as a married couple. John left the military to join the Royal Canadian Air Force working as an electrician. Irene and John raised their children in a few different places due to his career with the RCAF including Ontario, Manitoba and finally in Saskatchewan.

In 1981, John passed away, leaving Irene to reinvent herself. She learnt how to drive, and she got a job working at Valley View in Moose Jaw. Irene also volunteered many hours to FSNA, Grandmothers for Grandmothers and helping Girl Guides raise money and earn their badges. Irene had a generous spirit in which she donated to many charities. Her donations became tax refunds which gave her the funds to travel the world.

Irene was predeceased by Husband John; son Jimmy; sisters Margaret and Sylvia. She will be sadly missed by her son John (Lise); daughter Linda (Robert), son Peter (Nancy); 14 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday November 19, 2024, at 1:00 PM with Pastor Scott Elger to officiate. Irene will be laid to rest beside her husband John at Mount Evergreen Cemetery in Trenton, Ontario. Those unable to attend can watch the livestream. Please be in the waiting room prior to 12:50 pm Saskatchewan time to ensure you are able to watch.

Those so wishing, memorial donations may be made to Saskatchewan Cancer Society 200-4545 Parliament Ave. Regina, SK Canada S4W 0G3

In living memory of Irene, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Ltd. Please sign the memorial register at website: (Obituaries). Dayna Chamberlain- Funeral Director
