UNITY - Unity at Christmas time, so busy and so beautiful. There have been bake sales, trade shows, recitals, Carol Festival and Santa Day. The giving spirit is evident everywhere. We’ve had Secret Santa donations, mini tree decorating for gifting, adopt-a-grandparent, food bank giving plus all of our generous businesses with the Grand in Your Hand draw and door prizes as well.
For Winter Wonderland, many businesses provided treats and drinks to the residents out and about as part of the event. The event also included outdoor barbecues, sleigh rides and street hockey. To top it off, a beautiful parade. I’d like to take this moment to thank all of the amazing volunteers and our dedicated business community for bringing the true meaning of Christmas to our community. The laughter and smiles you bring to so many warms all of our hearts no matter what the temperature is.
Recently, I spent over three hours with the outstanding crew at Unity Dental Clinic. And yes, for Christmas, I’ll have more than my two front teeth. Painless, patient, they take so much pride in how they do their work. There are no rush jobs here, just a lot of pride in their workmanship, using the absolute latest in technology, it’s amazing what they accomplish. And they are right here in Unity.
Lately we are seeing more communities struggle to find doctors and, in some places, all medical staff are in short supply. I’d like to wish all of our doctors, nurses, and support staff a merry Christmas and a better, brighter new year. An extra special wish for Dr. Williams and family for all your work to keep Unity providing our residents with the health care they need.
I would need two pages in our local newspaper to thank all of you for your contributions to our community, near and far. The heart of Unity is growing with everything you do. Know that you are all angels on the ground, and you are appreciated each and every day. Mmerry Christmas, happy new year, safe travels to you and your loved ones, cheers to another year in Unity.
