A half-page ad boldly asks 鈥淎re you in favor of the sale of Beer, Wine and Spiritous Liquors to adult persons of either sex for consumption in Licensed Cocktail Rooms and Licensed Dining Rooms?鈥 Readers were urged to vote 鈥淵es鈥 in order 鈥渢o keep Unity up with the times.鈥 The ad was 鈥渋nserted by a number of progressive-minded citizens in the interests of keeping Unity in the forefront.鈥

After much discussion, Town of Unity council voted unanimously to rescind the bylaw requiring businesses to be closed for half the day on Wednesdays.

Auction sales were 小蓝视频 held for Albert Burnell of Unity, Louis J. Reiter of Tramping Lake, Roy J. Deck of Denzil and the late Frank Smallacomb of Salvador.

Unity Dry Cleaners advertised the opportunity to have your fur coat cleaned and stored for the summer months in their temperature-controlled storage vault.

Tarilie Pernitsky of McLurg won the medal for most points in her age class at the school division track meet held in North Battleford.

Wilkie Grade 12 drama students Ryan Kobelsky, Tera Hartter, Tiare Fenrich, Sherri Elder, Laura Barth and Roxanne Nestmann were preparing performances of Snow White and The Three Little Pigs as part of their children鈥檚 theatre program.

Unity and Wilkie libraries were both among the 162 in the province looking forward to receiving high speed internet as part of the CommunityNet program financed by the Government of Canada.
