Positive news from Unity mayor on curling club

No takeout as Town of Unity approves funds to repair Unity Curling club and curlers are assured to be back in the house for next season.

UNITY — Unity mayor, Sharon Del Frari, provides promising news regarding the situation involving Unity Curling Club.

“We have passed a motion at council to repair the damaged beams on the curling rink. The town will fund the repairs.

“The town has contacted the speciality engineers to start the repairs of the damaged beams and adjoining purloins as soon as possible. We anticipate 小蓝视频 able to open the rink once these repairs are completed, and, with scheduled follow-up inspections. The engineer will get back to us with a start date soon and they look forward to working with the community.”

Del Frari says the initial cost of $309,000 will be covered by the town. This will cover the cost of repairing the problem beams but there is an approximate $1 million tag on the completed roof repair, which includes this initial $300,000.

“The report recommends we carry out the total repairs, but these can be done over time with the inspections.”

Unity’s Mayor adds, “小蓝视频 Ryan Domotor attended our meeting April 11 and said the infrastructure funding program is over for now. There will be another program in the future which we will certainly need to watch for.”

A sigh of relief from curling enthusiasts in the community hearing that this well-used recreation venue will be repaired and be ready for use next season.
