UNITY ‑‑ Local credit union officials say they are doing what they can to provide a safe environment for both customers and staff. The option of online banking has been a great opportunity to do this.
Unity Credit Union, Manager of Marketing Megan Schweitzer says their team has been practising caution throughout the pandemic therefore have not had to pivot much with the new wave.
Their current precautions in place include mandatory masks, hand sanitizer at entrances and physical distancing is encouraged inside the branch. Safety shields are up, and staff are regularly sanitizing high touch points in between member visits.
“We are still encouraging online banking as much as possible as well as recommending calling ahead of time to make an appointment to speak to an advisor, prior to coming to the branch,” Schweitzer says.
UCU staff can work from home if needed. A number of digital and communication options are available, so no matter what happens a seamless experience is promised. Members can call the main line to be redirected to any staff member, contact UCU online through their website or email staff directly if needing assistance.
Unity Credit Union offers both an in-lobby and drive-through ATM.
Credit Union websites and social media pages will carry the latest updates regarding any changes that may be made to customer service options.
In a recent media release, Innovation Credit Union urged members to take advantage of digital banking services from the safety of their homes.
The release states the credit union is taking a step forward in their efforts to curb the new coronavirus strain from spreading, as the health and well-СÀ¶ÊÓƵ of their members is critical.
“Innovation will ensure ease of logging in, added security, easier online transfers and more such features through their new and updated app and website," according to the release. "The secure drop box located at the entrances of most advice centres/branches will be checked regularly by our staff. This will enable contactless banking and eliminate any member concerns of standing in long queues."
Innovation CU also advises that physical advice centres and branches could see unplanned closures, so using alternative banking services as opposed to СÀ¶ÊÓƵ in branch, along with practising safety guidelines, is recommended until the current spread of Omicron variant is mitigated.
Innovation CU has a number of ATM locations, offering another option for customers to limit in-branch activity.
