Kerrobert Fire Department reviews their year

An above normal amount of calls are reported in the year's review by Kerrobert Fire Department

KERROBERT - The Kerrobert Fire department had another busy year as the dry conditions with the heat wave kept the crews busy throughout the year.

This year, KFD responded to above normal amount of fire calls.

The KFD team currently has 24 members who put in countless hours into the department.

Unfortunately, due to rising COVID-19 cases in the province, the annual barbecue for the fire department will not be held during Fire Prevention Week this year. It will be held at a later date.

This year, Fire Prevention Week is "Learn the Sounds" and encourage everyone to check their smoke detectors and CO monitors and know what to do.

The Kerrobert Fire Department recently benefited from a community barbecue put on by Kerrobert Credit Union on Sept. 23. (They also hosted one for the Major FD on Sept. 22). Proceeds were donated to our fire departments.

“Everyone hopes to never use the services of the fire department but we all want them equipped as best they can be, just in case,” says Kerrobert Credit Union. “This year we chose not to charge for our food items but invited cash donations instead and on the final count we will be donating $3,328.75 to the Kerrobert Fire Department (and $1721.00 to Major FD).

Volunteer firefighters helped with the cooking for this event to continue with their community service mandate.
