UNITY — The Highway 21 re-routing project that has been ongoing since March has provided residents an ever changing scene of construction equipment and varying stages of progress.
Aug.22 to 29, residents of Unity as well as those travelling in and out of the community experienced a number of detours as part of the process. Detour signage included message boards, barricades ahead and road closed sings notifying travellers of the changes ahead.
The town of Unity put a post on their Facebook page with maps and instructions detailing the temporary detour that was 小蓝视频 set up, stating, "Starting Aug. 23, traffic will not be able to access Highway 21 from Highway 14 directly. Traffic will have to take the "W Entrance Road" north 2.7 km to the stop sign. They will then head east for 1.6 km where they will then rejoin Highway 21. There will be access to Highway 21 from avenues in town for local traffic only, however it is asked that this is avoided."
As with any outdoor construction project, the proposed length of the detour proposed at seven to10 days is weather dependent.
Many residents say they have been more curious than annoyed with the short-term change to their travel routes that are part of the final stages of the Highway 21 bypass completion.
Dignitaries were on hand to cut the ribbon on the project as detailed in an earlier August story,
