DENZIL – Lyndsay Stang, who grew up in Macklin, was named the winner of the CurlSask T-shirt design contest Jan. 19.
The contest was announced back in October on Facebook and Instagram. The contest caught Stang’s attention and creative mind, so she decided to enter.
“I just started to play around with some of the elements that were required by CurlSask. I knew I wanted to incorporate the Saskatchewan flag colours,” Stang said.
She entered the contest early, so she was surprised when she got a call from a CurlSask member.
“I actually had forgotten that I had entered. I was shocked that my design was chosen. I have no professional design experience or training but I was so excited,” she added.
Stang had to list a club she was affiliated with as part of the application. Although she does not curl in any leagues, she chose to list her club as the Denzil Curling Club.
“I have curled since I was in Grade 2 or 3. I still take part in some of the bonspiels at the Denzil Curling Club, so I wanted to support them.”
With Stang 小蓝视频 announced as the winner, a donation of $1,000 was made to the Denzil Curling Club from Affinity Credit Union. Stang received a $100 gift card from Runback and a T-shirt with her design, which was released on the CurlSask T-shirts for Provincial Day of Curling Jan. 19.
