KERROBERT - The Christmas season is upon us once again. The trees are 小蓝视频 put up and decorated so nice. People are braving the cold to put up lights around the outside of their homes, but like me, many wait until the nicer weather is gone before we decide it is time. It needs to have that feeling that includes snow and colder temperatures so we can complain that we should have just left the lights up from the previous year. Oh well, once the lights are up and working, it does look good and is worth the little extra time and effort to make it happen.
Kerrobert has begun the Christmas celebrations already. The Courthouse Restoration Society hosted the festival of trees Dec. 1, where different groups or businesses could decorate a tree and then the trees were voted on to determine the nicest tree. The next day, the Courthouse Restoration Society hosted the Winter Wonderland Town Christmas Party at PCC Town Hall. Front Porch Roots Revue supplied the musical entertainment for the evening.
Empty building in the downtown corridor owned by the town, gave us the opportunity to have a Christmas village located in the old pizza place building at 432 - Atlantic Ave. Opening night was Dec. 1and it will be open Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays until Dec. 22. It is a chance for the kids to come and meet Santa and let him know what they are wishing hard for this Christmas. I am looking forward to our kids 小蓝视频 at home with us this Christmas, as I am sure everyone is also looking forward to getting together with their family and friends throughout the holiday season as well.
I want to say thank you to Veronica Smith who has worked for us at the town office for several years. She will be retiring this month, and on behalf of council and the rest of the staff, I want to let Veronica know what a blessing she has been for us. She works extremely hard at applying for grants, which we get many of, thanks to her. She does many different jobs within the office, and she is pleasant to everyone she deals with. It has been a great joy having her be a part of our team. Veronica, you will be truly missed.
On behalf of the town, town council and myself, I want to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season. Merry Christmas.
