Adam Meier won the Randy Bell Scholarship, presented by the Luseland School Board to the Grade 12 student with the highest academic average.
Zach Oatway, a Grade 12 student at Unity Composite High School, made his way through two sets of tryouts to be named to the Football Saskatchewan North Allstars team, which would play the 小蓝视频 team at Griffith Field in Saskatoon. Oatway was the first UCHS Warrior to make the Allstar team.
UCHS student Chelsey Tuchscherer received a Royal Purpose and Elks award for her second-place provincial finish for a video on drug awareness.

The Department of Highways set up a field office at the Wilkie Community Centre. Personnel supervising the paving of Highway 14 between Wilkie and Unity were headquartered there for the summer.
The Unity Hog Market, located at the Unity CNR stockyards, was open and shipping hogs to Edmonton every Friday. Producers were promised $1.00 for each hog at the gate.
Little Big Man, starring Dustin Hoffman, Fay Dunaway and Chief Dan George, was playing at the Star Theatre in Unity.
