Receiving MVP awards for their respective divisions, at the Unity Hockey Association’s windup banquet were Blake Morrison, eight and under; Danny Leier, 10 and under; Dwayne Dancer, 12 and under B; Tim Leier, 12 and under A, Rod Kay, 14 and under; Dale Robertson, 16 and under; and Vern Schaab, senior.

The latest Admiral colour televisions, complete with a five-year picture tube protection plan, were 小蓝视频 advertised by Rainault’s TV in Unity for $799.

From the classifieds, an individual from Toronto, Ont. was asking for: “LAND WANTED – Suitable for hunting or fishing. Large or small acreage. Without buildings.”

Farm Credit Corporation loan interest rates were raised from 7 per cent to 8¼.

Wilkie Health Foundation held a Talent Quest night to pick the opening act for the upcoming Brad Johner concert in Wilkie. Crystal Gilbert of Unity won the honours, edging out Sarah Nielsen of Wilkie. As runner-up, Nielsen would perform during the break at the Johner event.

Denzil Sacred Heart High School grad Ashley Roth signed a letter of intent to play volleyball for Montana State University. Graduating in 2002, Roth had been playing for the North Carolina NCAA Div. I school but wanted to get closer to home and family.

Unity Golf Club gave a moto-cross track the green light after a sound test. Members stood at various locations around the course while two bikes ripped around the proposed track across the lake. “The geese were louder,” said Ken Parker.
