The Unity Brownies ended their year with a camp at Atton’s Lake. Thanks were given to Cst. Ward and Mr. McCoy for instructing and testing the girls for their cyclist badges. Earning the badges were Lynn Flanagan, Etha Hagel, Yvonne Lubianesky, Karen Phillips, Heather Serack, Becci Schraeder and Michelle St. Germain.
The Hospital Bulletin for Wilkie Union Hospital gave the names of 15 new patients from Wilkie, one from Tramping Lake, one from Scott and two from Handel. There was one death and one birth – a baby boy born to Mr. and Mrs. James Holm of Wilkie. Fourteen patients had been discharged during the week.
Wilkie swimming pool fees for children in 1974 were 35¢ a day or $6 for the season.

Cami and Cara Wooster, members of the Luseland graduation class of 2004, were recipients of hockey scholarships from the University of North Dakota.
Also heading to the United States on an athletic scholarship was McLurg High School graduate and basketball player Brett Weese. Weese chose to accept an offer from the Montana State Billings Yellowjackets.
The Unity Sports Wall of Fame held their inaugural banquet. Individual inductees were Herb Howdle, Cameron Fryer, Allan Acton, Dan Leier, Betty Housen, Frank Hoffart and builder Ed Prediger.
A new public works labourer hired by the Town of Wilkie would be paid $7.75 an hour.
The Unity Canada Day committee was looking for 50 volunteers after the previous year’s events saw between 600 and 700 people attending.
