Evesham hosted a “Back Home Week” in July, which included a hobby and handicraft show, gymkhana, musical entertainment, a locally performed musical ride, bonfire, pancake breakfast, parade and more. A number of prizes were given out, including the youngest couple with the most children (Maniann and Bill Sanford), youngest grandmother (Pat Nelson) and the longest married couple (Elsie and Sam Manchester).

Coady Credit Union marked its 24th anniversary. The Wilkie Press reported “It is now a leading financial institution in the community, having been given a boost by the joining of the Leipzig Credit Union in 1957.”
